Information Security Policies & Permission for Use of UCF ARCC, Network, Equipment, and Services
The purpose of the UCF Advanced Research Computing Center is to support the research and education performed across the University of Central Florida (and its collaborators). The staff of the UCF ARCC reserve the right to cancel or modify any activity that may interfere with this mission.
This agreement applies in addition to UCF policies, especially Policies 4-002 and 4-008 at http://policies.ucf.edu.
By registering and using an account within the UCF ARCC, you agree to the following terms:
- I have read and agreed to the policies of the University as follows:
- Policies 4-002 and 4-008 at http://policies.ucf.edu
- I understand and agree that I am required to uphold the policies and procedures adopted to safeguard the information and associated resources that may be entrusted to me or with which I have contact. This includes the understanding that ARCC users are responsible for ensuring they are in compliance with any federally mandated restrictions on data storage and transport as stipulated by the contracts associated with the grants funding the research being conducted on ARCC resources.
- ARCC resources are not currently approved for HIPAA, FERPA, or CUI data.
- I understand that any cryptocurrency mining or other distributed cryptography projects (including volunteer efforts) are not allowed.
- I understand that some software on the clusters is licensed to individuals or groups only. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure the proper licensed usage of any software.
- I understand that UCF ARCC staff will schedule cluster maintenance during regularly scheduled maintenance windows (typically in May and December). However, emergency issues may occur that need immediate addressing and will be handled outside defined maintenance windows.
- I agree to report violations of policies or procedures to my supervisor, ARCC leadership, and the UCF Information Security Office.
