Introduction

In order to get access to the ARCC clusters, a ticket requesting a new account has to be submitted. The following steps give you a straightfoward guide on how to do so:

  • Go to the official ARCC website here
  • Under ACCOUNTS click User Registration Form
  • Fill out the form
  • Click submit

Note

Make sure to use your UCF email and that all the information is correct.

Once the account is created, you will receive an update on your email requesting for an orientation date which must be completed in order for you to gain access to the cluster. In the next pages we will talk about setting up your connection to the cluster from different operating systems and an optional security measure users can set up using Google Authentificator.

Note

High availability and load balancing

Each of the two clusters (Stokes and Newton) offer high availability user nodes and automatically assigned upon login. This operation is transparent to the user - but you may tell the difference by looking at the hostname in the prompt. Stokes uses euser1 and euser2, Newton uses evuser1 and evuser2.
